Understanding the Steps to File a Claim

GENERAL CLAIMS PROCEDURES

HOW TO CLAIM

Policies of insurance contain conditions regarding claims procedures which outline the insured's rights and duties as well as the company in the event of a claim. The action to be taken in the event of a claim is as follows:

Please notify your intermediary or our office promptly not more than 30 days of any incident which may result in a claim.

Notify the Police within twenty-four (24) hours (where applicable).

All claim forms must be fully completed and returned to the company immediately together with any other relevant supporting documents (including the police report where applicable) substantiating the loss should be forwarded to the company as soon as possible. Three (3) quotations for repairs should also be submitted (where applicable).

Failure to lodge claims within thirty (30) days from the date of accident could result in repudiation on the grounds of late notification.

Keep evidence of the loss where applicable.

Repairs of the damaged property require prior authorisation by the insurer.
